A shout out to the fifteen clubs that have increased their membership numbers this Rotary year, especially those that have increased their ranks by 10% or more- Girdwood 10%, Ketchikan and North Pole 11%, Soldotna 12%, Seward 14%, Russian Jack 18%, Wasilla 21% Anchorage South 22% and the grand prize goes to Susitna with a 40% membership growth going from 42 to 59 members.  Seventeen new members from July 1 through December 31st!!  President Marty says it’s all about caring for each other and caring for the community.

Despite these success stories, as a district we are down 59 members, total.  Is your club struggling with membership? There are many tools available to you on My Rotary, everything from evaluating where you are, to engaging your existing members, to conducting a membership event.  I realize it’s not always easy to find things on My Rotary, if you’re having trouble finding something, I’m willing to help, just let me know.

Exit Interviews can help your club identify why members are leaving your club. The District Membership Committee has developed a streamlined Exit Interview form and is also willing to help you conduct these interviews.

Club Visioning is another great way to get your club focused on your top priorities, when was your club’s last Visioning Session? Let me know if you want to get on the list for your next session.  DG Mike suggests doing this every 3-5 years.

If you are interested in any of these ideas, I can help connect you with the people and tools that you need. Here’s a link to all the online membership tools:  https://my.rotary.org/en/learning-reference/learn-topic/membership
