The District Nominating Committee is grateful to the qualified candidates who stepped forward to serve as District Governor from July 1, 2026-June 30, 2027. Each candidate was supported by the nomination of their home clubs.
The India dam project is going fantastically well. Working hard in the 90+ degree heat building the water catchment dam with a small team of Rotarians and about 45 local villagers that we have hired to help. When it is completed, the dam will provide a clean, year-round source of water and allow the local villagers to increase their crop yields by 200-300%. From what we have seen, this is literally the difference between extreme poverty and prosperity.

A ShelterBox emergency assessment team is in Marrakesh finding out what support is needed following the earthquake, and if we are well placed to help. The team is assessing the damage as well as speaking with local people, authorities, organizations, and our Rotary network as we try to understand how many people are without adequate shelter.

Safe water is a fundamental human need and a primary focus of Rotary projects around the world. Many Alaskan communities remain highly vulnerable to sudden loss of community-safe water supplies. Over the winter of 2020‐2021 six remote Alaska communities, mostly Alaskan Native villages, lost their only safe water sources due to fire and other sudden casualty losses.
